Thomas Wood LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in family estrangement. I work with parents who have been cut off, adult children who found it necessary to distance themselves from family, and relatives caught in the crossfire. I also work with individuals navigating broader relationship issues, depression, and anxiety.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I weave these into therapeutic conversations along with Gestalt, Narrative, Object Relations, and Transpersonal techniques, tailoring our work to your goals and circumstances.
My academic and clinical foundation includes an MSW from UW-Milwaukee, advanced family therapy training through the Family Therapy Training Institute, a BA from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Ultimately, my clinical training is backed by the perspective, pattern recognition, and grounded insight that come from more than six decades of lived experience.
